Wayne Marchysyn is a photographer of grassroots activism, chronicling the fight for social justice in the area of Long Beach. Wayne became an activist early on in life in small ways, but it was the event called Occupy that was the catalyst to become an active participant in grassroots activism. It was through the national movement of Occupy that Wayne started to meet elements of the Long Beach social justice network.
In 2015 Wayne applied for, was accepted and graduated from the Long Beach Neighborhood Leadership program. Then, in 2016 Wayne took the Long Beach Rising Leadership training and graduated. Currently, Wayne is a member of Long Beach Area Peace Network (LBAPN) and Long Beach May Day Coalition. He is one of the founding members as well as on the Advisory Board of Long Beach Residents Empowered (LiBRE), one of the founding members of Stop Fracking Long Beach, president of Veterans For Peace Chapter 110 and a member of People for Palestine Israeli Justice (PPIJ).
